Astronomy Simulation
Note: This Project is going to work best on mouse-based devices with larger screens. Requires Javascript, obviously
This project is my attempt at simulating the solar system.
Below you will find the bodies to be simulated. They are listed in order of distance from the Sun, except for subsections, which (generally) indicate Moons, and are listed in order of distance from orbited body.
Sun
Mercury
Venus
Earth
- Moon
Mars
- Phobos
- Deimos
The Asteroid Belt (The “Big Four” Bodies here are found within the Asteroid Belt)
- Ceres
- Pallas
- Juno
- Vesta
Jupiter
- Io
- Europa
- Ganymede
- Callisto
Saturn
- Titan
Chiron (Has an unstable orbit, crossing between Saturn and Uranus. On average it sits between Saturn and Uranus)
Uranus
Neptune
- Triton
Pluto (These last four bodies are listed in terms of average distance from the Sun)
- Charon
Eris
Sedna
I am mostly using the knowledge described in Jean Meeus’s Astronomical Algorithms book to do my simulations.
